Tele + P90 or Tele + Mini Humbucker ?

I have an 1998 Am Std Tele bought new that I have never got along with. I like teles but this one has never felt or sounded right. I had Fender SCNs installed about three years ago, the bridge sounds ok but the neck is just blah. Horrible and bland.

Have any RG members experience of a tele with a neck P90 or a neck minihumbucker ? Did you do the work yourself or get someone to do it ? Photos or information on pickups, pickguards etc used would be great.

A full sized humbucker also works really well on a Tele.

I've got eBay links for Tele single/HB pickguards.

Might be difficult to find one with a hole for standard P90 or mini hum.

I have G&L Bluesboys with a Duncan Seth Lover in the neck, one has a Fender vintage noiseless in the bridge and the other is stock. I like single coil pickups a lot but can't stand the hum / noise . That's why I got SCNs in this one. I never did like tele neck pickups much A P90 or mini humbucker should be a lot better.
